The Physics behind Air Conditioning

A modern Air Conditioning system is comprised of the following sub systems and components;

Compressor

The compressor compresses the cold vapour, this causes the gas to heat up and pressurise.

Cooling Fan & Condenser

This hot gas then enters the condenser by a fan blowing cool air, this causes the hot gas to condense into a liquid.

Expansion Valve and Evaporator

The valve allows the liquid refrigerant to expand into the evaporator, which absorbs heat changing the refrigerant chemicals back into a low pressure gas.
